Understanding CBD

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the non-psychoactive cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. CBD and all the other cannabinoids were patented by the United States Government in 2003 as neuroprotectants and antioxidants. CBD is non-toxic and has potent anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties that work naturally with the human body’s endocannabinoid system to produce a wide variety of health benefits.

What are Cannabinoids?

Numerous cannabinoids discovered in the cannabis hemp plant are being scientifically investigated for their health benefits. Cannabinoids are characterized by their ability to act on the cannabinoid receptors found throughout the human body. Our body produces endocannabinoids intrinsically, but additional supplementation of your endocannabinoid system with phytocannabinoids such as CBD, CBC, CBG, and CBN, might help your body achieve peak performance.

What are the various kinds of CBD strands, and what is their specific application?

CBD (cannabidiol) reduces inflammation, stress, anxiety, and depression.

CBC (cannabichromene) is a powerful, non-psychoactive cannabinoid. It will not cause a user to feel “high.” Like THC and CBD, CBC has been shown to encourage the human brain to grow by increasing the viability of developing brain cells in a process known as neurogenesis.

CBG (cannabigerol) works to fight inflammation, pain, and nausea. Research indicates it can also significantly reduce intraocular eye pressure caused by glaucoma. Strains high in CBG can be beneficial in treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease or Crohn’s disease.

THC (tetrahydrocannabivarin) provides pain relief, eases nausea, protects brain cells, can help with PSTD, and is used as an effective sleep aid.

CBN (cannabinol) can be used effectively as a sleep aid and has also been shown to be helpful in regulating the immune system. It works to relieve the pain and inflammation caused by several conditions, including arthritis and Crohn’s disease.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

Cannabinoid receptors located throughout the body are part of the EndoCannabinoid System (ECS), which is involved in various physiological processes, including appetite regulation, mood regulation, metabolism, hormone regulation, immune response, and memory.

What is the difference between CBD from hemp and CBD from marijuana?

Both hemp and marijuana are from the cannabis genus, which means they are from the same plant family. The characteristic of having low Delta 9 THC is the single difference that most rely on to distinguish therapeutic hemp from marijuana. CBD and all the other cannabinoids taken from hemp are the exact same compounds as those found in marijuana.

What is the entourage effect?

Cannabinoids work in conjunction with each other and are more effective when they are found together versus when they are isolated. Our proprietary processing procedure allows us to naturally extract CBD that does not eliminate any of the valuable substances from the hemp plant. We produce an extract that is highly concentrated in CBD and contains significant amounts of additional cannabinoids like CBC, CBG, CBN, and more.

How do I consume Leaves of Eden oil?

The cannabinoid oil products we offer have several application methods. You can hold a sublingual dose under the tongue for 30-60 seconds (best and fastest absorption method), apply the oil topically to your skin (should be applied directly to a problem area), or blend the oil in a health-conscious smoothie. All our oils are organic and manufactured with organic coconut oil.

What is the difference between Broad-spectrum and Full-spectrum CBD?

Broad-Spectrum CBD is mainly THC free, while Full-Spectrum CBD contains up to 0.3% Delta 9 THC. Although Full-spectrum CBD contains up to 0.3% THC, it does not have any psychoactive properties and will not make you intoxicated.

Will I test positive for a drug test for marijuana?

The short answer is “no”! When you obtain your CBD from a reputable source such as Leaves of Eden CBD, you receive a maximum of 0.3% Delta 9 THC. This means it is very unlikely that you would test positive for marijuana use. If you are still concerned, we recommend using a Broad-Spectrum CBD, which contains zero THC.

How much should I take, what strength, should I choose.

Currently, the FDA has not released any guidelines for strength and dosing qualities of CBD. We recommend that you do not start too low, as you may not notice the effects. When using a tincture, we recommend starting with a 1000 mg tincture. You’ll be able to calculate what effects CBD has on your body easily. If you’re brand new to CBD, you can try one-half of the dose for the first two days. After two days, evaluate your results, and if a half dose is working, stick with it. If half the dose does not seem to be enough, try taking the full drop daily. Or reduce the amount if the effects linger a bit too long for you.

What delivery system should I use for my specific purposes?

This is solely a question of preference and convenience. If you like a treat, you might prefer our gummies. You might want to use our tinctures or our nanospray for faster effect and delivery. Taking CBD in the form of our softgels will allow you to bypass your taste buds altogether if you don't enjoy the flavor of CBD, while allowing you to enjoy the benefits of CBD.

Can my pet take CBD?

All mammals have an endocannabinoid system and can benefit from CBD and other cannabinoids. Our CBD oil for dogs is great for dogs but will also work for your cat, pet goat, or any other fury friend. Please consult your veterinarian for guidance. We are currently working on a tuna-flavored tincture specifically for cats.

Will CBD help my condition?

Due to federal regulations, we cannot make claims about whether Full-Spectrum cannabinoid extracts can help with specific ailments. We do, however, urge everyone to research the widely available information online. You can easily find many resources about CBD, CBC, CBG, CBN hemp oil, and their possible benefits. Many physicians are starting to see the benefits of using CBD oil as a supplement. When in doubt, please consult your physician.
